Music Changes Lives

Alexandra’s Musical Awakening.

Today, Alexandra is an advanced flutist at the Municipal Conservatory… but her path in music is relatively new. Just two years ago, Sulamot visited Alexandra’s school and offered her the chance to play the flute.

Her teachers still look fondly on her progress at the Conservatory, describing Alexandra’s music as something that fills them with joy. “The sounds from her flute are magical, lively, and very beautiful. Her scores warm and touch my heart, because I know her journey to life as a musician.”

Music changed Alexandra’s life, transformed her social status, and gave her the opportunity to give back to other young artists. At school, she has the special role of training fellow musicians during breaks.

Sulamot offered Alexandra the incredible gift of hope.

Sarah’s journey to self-expression.

Only one year ago, Sarah transferred to Mitzpe School in Southern Israel. When she arrived, her teacher watched a quiet, worried child sitting alone. Since Sarah comes from a Russian immigrant family, she worried a language barrier could make it difficult to connect with other students.

Sarah began to study clarinet – and magic ensued. She started to make progress quickly, and her musical talent helped her befriend students of all ages, no matter the language they spoke.

Today, Sarah practices and performs with not only her peers, but also her friends. “She is happy, expresses herself through the clarinet, and found a source of personal love and connection,” says one of her teachers.
